The Golden Paste Recipe

Ready to gain the benefits of Golden Paste?

This GP recipe is widely popular and has been tested by a large number of people in the Original Turmeric User Group. Group members claim it has fantastic effects and can be used by humans and animals alike. Here is the recipe:

Golden Paste Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml/60g) turmeric powder
  • 1 cup water (250 ml) plus 1 cup of water extra in reserve, if needed
  • 1/3 cup (70 ml) raw, unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil (or you can substitute with linseed (flaxseed) oil, OR virgin/extra virgin olive oil)
  • 2-3 teaspoons freshly cracked black pepper

Note that the amount of pepper has been increased since May 2016 based on Dr Doug English's recommendations, as it has shown greater success in a large number of cases. However, if you cannot tolerate pepper, you can omit it. Just remember that turmeric will still be more effective with the pepper, even though cooking it and adding oil will help with its absorption.

If you're new to turmeric, it's recommended that you start small with 1/4 of a teaspoon twice a day with food and water.

Golden Paste Method

To make the Golden Paste, bring the turmeric and water to a boil in a saucepan, then lower the heat and simmer until you have a thick paste. This usually takes around 7-10 minutes, but you may need to add more water along the way.

Once the paste has thickened, remove from the heat and add in the freshly cracked pepper and oil. Mix well to ensure the oil is evenly distributed throughout the paste. Allow the mixture to cool before storing it in a glass container in the fridge. Note that the Golden Paste will only keep for 2 weeks in the fridge, so it's best to freeze any excess that won't be used within that time frame. You can use silicon moulds to store the excess paste for easy single servings later on.

If you're not a fan of the earthy taste of turmeric, there are several ways to incorporate it into your diet. You can find some ideas online or at your local organic health food store.
